I'd rather have Steve Clarke as manager over Martinez.

Enough with being linked with the existing young premier league managers. (i.e Rodgers, Martinez, lambert) surely managing Liverpool football club is still a huge attraction despite no champs league.
Exactly! While all of them are decent enough managers, what we really need is a proven manager and someone who commands respect straight away and has a history of winning titles.

I have a gut feeling we are going to try and tempt Capello into the role.

Ideally I would like Jose to come in or Pep but never a chance in hell of that happening.

Also it's nice to see that a lot of other people on here disappointed that KK wasn't given more of a chance.

Re: Official Thread - Kenny Dalglish Sacked - ALL POSTS HERE PLEASE - psl85 posted: 17 May 2012 12:04:23

I think I may be in a minority here...but I wouldn't mind Rijkaard at Anfield! Well, thanks for ripping that out.

We have to move on from this, the foundations are there for LFC to push on. We can build on the two cup finals (our first since 2007) Kenny took us to in his first full season, but I just thought Kenny could have done that anyway.

Re: Official Thread - Kenny Dalglish Sacked - ALL POSTS HERE PLEASE - Fernando_Gerrard posted: 17 May 2012 10:21:16
Pass&Move - 17/5/2012 09:54 Whoever gets the job it has to be a long term appointment and that in itself rules out the likes of Pep/Jose/Fabio....The club needs stability and direction and for me there is only one man that can bring that to this club - RAFA!
Or AVB... I feel the best plan the Yanks have their minds is Martinez or AVB! In my humble opinion that is not a step up and another huge risk!
Fools. Frankly if they think they can apply the logistic of running a baseball club to the modern day SKY football league they've got something else coming. I waited 20 odd years for the King to return, and the treatment is unjustified. Impatience, yet, is the name of the modern game. Well done to all the OOT's who helped get rid of Kenny, can they point out Liverpool on a map ! I'm sure the new owners were aware of public sentiments. Maybe, the investment they felt they had made was not returning results. However, if the new owners are naive enough to think Liverpool Franchise Group can overcome both Mancs, Chelsea and a financially stable Arsenal Football Club then they are deluded.

Replacing Kenny with a AVB would also be a disaster of the most epic proportions, more so than the appointment of Hodgson. Have they not seen the reaction of the Chelsea players to his management, or lack of it, skills. He would cause chaos in a team room. The only managers around Europe that players react to, and have a personal relationship with are Mourinho and Guardiola. However, both those lads are unlikely targets. The whole club is without a direction and a clear structure.

Downwards towards joining Nottingham Forest we go.............bye, bye modern day football, had enough it.............

FAREWELL KENNY, you'll always be KING OF THE KOP, thanks for all the memories, especially in those early days that brought so many happy memories and a very sad one.

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark

Too many average players playing below par. To be really competitive any team needs 2-4 world class players and a squad of players who are average or better.

Some players have their good days but no consistency. I think in the last 3-4 years our overall quality has dropped.

And it's not necessary to spend fortunes to get quality players if you accept they may not be fully proven, but knowing if they'll make the step up to the EPL seems a harder thing to identify.
